KINGSTANDING YOUTH HANDED ASBO FOR INTIMIDATION
A Birmingham teenager appeared before the City’s Youth Magistrates Court today (Monday 11 October) and was served with a two year Anti-Social Behaviour Order.
Jack Carter aged 14, of Kings Road, Kingstanding, terrorised local residents in the area for two years. His catalogue of criminal behaviour included spitting at residents and shopkeepers, fighting, beating up other youngsters in the area, trespassing and smashing windows and bus shelters.
Despite numerous interventions and support from West Midlands Police, the City’s Youth Offending Service and officers from Birmingham’s Anti-Social Behaviour Unit, Carter continued to offend and his family ignored pleas for him to adhere to an Acceptable Behaviour Contract (ABC).
Cllr Ayoub Khan, Cabinet Member for Community Safety said, “I am saddened that this young person has refused help and support from so many agencies across the City who only have his best interests at heart.
I hope that this action will be strong lesson to him and will help him to make more positive decisions about his future.
It important that everyone in this city, both young and old, understands that we cannot and will not condone anti-social behaviour”.
