BIRMINGHAM REDUCING GANG VIOLENCE
‘My Life, My Choice’ - Lesson Plan Training
The Birmingham Reducing Gang Violence Education Resource was launched at Star City on November 15th and schools are now able to access the teacher/staff training sessions for the ‘My Life My Choice&Rsquo; film: to be delivered to Year 9s (or appropriate age group if deemed otherwise). Note: it is all free of charge.
This training will enable staff to:
- Deliver the lesson plans effectively and gain an understanding of the background and context of this educational resource
- Gain valuable knowledge of the current policy for tackling gang issues in Birmingham
- Understand the referral mechanisms in place for young people at risk of or involved in gangs
Each school/provider wishing to receive this package, which includes the film/DVD and accompanying lesson plans, is asked to send one appropriate member of staff, as places are limited (preferably the person delivering the package: a senior member of staff is also welcome should they wish to attend). Note: there is only one pack available per school.
The 2 sessions available to choose from are:
- Wednesday 2nd February - 8.30am - 12.30pm; - Tally Ho Conference Centre, Pershore Road Edgbaston B5 7RN
- Thursday 17th February - 8.30am - 12.30pm; - Tally Ho Conference Centre, Pershore Road Edgbaston B5 7RN
